I am also very experienced in complex cases involving family businesses and cases where there are assets which need to be divided fairly.
I have thirty years’ experience dealing with the sale and purchase of all properties ranging from the bottom end of the market up to several million pounds.
I can also act for mortgagees and advise you in relation to remortgages or new mortgages.
I am the partner in the firm responsible for dealing with Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney and Deputyship. I also deal with shared ownership transactions and Deputyship and Probate property sales and first registrations as part of the conveyancing team.
I have completed the STEP Certificate in Trusts and Estates. I have also recently completed the Administration of Estates and Administration of Trust modules of the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates.
Before joining McCorry Connolly I worked in the voluntary sector dealing with legal issues relating to employment, debt, housing and welfare.
I continue to deal with a substantial number of settlement agreements between employer and employee each year.
I have over 17 years’ experience of acting on all types of property transactions. I have worked in-house for a residential developer and in private practice for residential and commercial developers, housebuilders and landlords.
I have extensive experience of acting for private individuals buying homes or taking leases of property.
I have worked in the City of London for Eversheds LLP and Davies Arnold Cooper acting for national developers including David Wilson Homes Crest Nicholson and Berkley Homes and I have also acted for Local Authorities on large regeneration schemes.
I have extensive experience of option agreements, development agreements and joint venture arrangements for both developers and landowners.
I pride myself on finding quick and cost-effective solutions to any problems which may arise.
Gunita is our commercial property lawyer and has 12 years’ experience in all aspects of conveyancing and has acted on the sale and purchase of commercial and development properties and the grant of office and retail leases. These transactions have varied from the lower end of the market up to multi-million pound transactions.
Gunita has worked in the City for many years for firms such as Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP and Mischcon De Reya LLP and, more locally, for smaller firms such as DWFM Beckman LLP and Mullis & Peake LLP.
Gunita’s clients have included banks, a range of insurance institutions and high net worth commercial property investors, as well as small scale individual investors and companies.
Gunita’s approach to each transaction is to find a timely and cost effective solution for the client and pre-empt any problems with the title of the property in the future.

Sophie joined McCorry Connolly in September 2016 as a trainee solicitor working predominantly in the Family Law department.
Sophie is an excellent communicator and has the ability to empathise with clients particularly when they are in difficult circumstances requiring expert advice.
Sophie has a Master of Laws in Professional Legal Practice with distinction and an Honours Degree in English. Sophie’s excellent academic background means she has a keen eye for detail for the more ambiguous areas of family law.
Sophie has a particular interest in the law relating to pre and post-nuptial agreements on which she based her Masters.
Barry has joined McCorry Connolly in June 2017 to bring additional strength to the Family Law team. Barry is a senior solicitor with thirty years’ experience in Family Law and civil litigation. Barry also has considerable experience of advocacy and will represent his clients in court.
Barry’s extensive experience allows him to deal efficiently and expeditiously with not only legal issues but the pragmatic issues that require resolution in family break-ups. Barry can offer realistic advice on the financial management of a case and the costs to deliver outcomes tailored to suit his client’s needs and objectives.
Barry is a local man having lived all his life in the Romford area.
Barry will be in the office on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
